15th meeting of the ITU-D Advisory Group

15th meeting of the ITU-D Advisory Group was held in Geneva (Switzerland) from 24th February till 26th February, 2010 under the guidance of V. Minkin, ITU-D AG Chairman and FSUE NIIR Deputy Director General. At the ITU-D AG opening there were Dr. H. Ture, ITU Secretary General, H. Chao, Deputy Secretary General, S.Al-Bashir, Director of Development Bureau, V. Timofeev, Director of Radiocommunication Bureau, and M.Johnson, Director of Standardization Bureau.

More than 200 representatives of Administrations and Sector Members took part in the meeting where nearly 50 documents were submitted for consideration.

The primary goals of ITU-D AG meeting were the analysis of realization of Doha Plan and other decisions of the World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-06), and preparation to WTDC-10. The meeting has considered projects of the Sector Strategic Plan, new and revised Resolutions and Study Questions, including proposals prepared by NIIR. The results of Coordination meeting of Heads of Regional preparatory meetings to WTDC-10, including proposals and initiatives of the CIS countries have been approved.

ITU-D AG Decisions were aimed on assistance by the Bureau of telecommunication development to the regional agencies, administrations and private sector during preparation to WTDC-10.
