Session of Interdepartmental Workgroup

On 1st March, 2010 at FSUE NIIR premises under A. Nazarenko presidency (the Deputy Head of the interdepartmental workgroup), plenary session of the interdepartmental workgroup was held devoted to examination of materials on system designs for construction and operation of the Russian segments of foreign mobile personal satellite communication systems «Iridium», «Thuraya» and «Orbcomm», on conformity to the requirements of current standards and legislation in the field of communication.

During session, designs of the Russian segments have been reviewed. The plan to prepare expert's report for the Governmental Commission on federal communication and information technologies was elaborated. The Governmental Commission will decide on possibility and suitability to use these personal communications systems in the Russian Integrated Telecommunication Network.
