The 60th anniversary of FSUE NIIR

An official celebration to mark the 60th anniversary of FSUE NIIR has been held in the Central Academical Theatre of the Russian Army on 9th of December 2009. FSUE NIIR is the institute of high communication technologies, and its anniversary was a national grade event.

Valery Butenko, FSUE NIIR Director General, has delivered a solemn speech to the enterprise employees and guests.

He vividly exemplified new prospects of the institute by demonstrating its up-to-date achievements.

Igor Schegolev, Minister of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation, made congratulatory address. As he said, FSUE NIIR is a key industry institute having wide heritage, still being one of the leading organizations in the industry. Mr. Schegolev emphasized his hopes for continuous institute rejuvenation, staff replenishment, and machinery development. He wished the Institute new essential projects and successful completion of the current ones.

Dr. Hamadoun Tourê, ITU Secretary-General congratulated FSUE NIIR by video. He expressed sincere admiration of NIIR's role in telecommunications and ICT enabling progress of information society. Also he addressed warmly to one of the eldest NIIR scientists – Prof. M. Krivosheev, having best ITU rewards. Dr. Hamadoun Tourê wished FSUE NIIR to succeed in all beginnings and continue creative collaboration with ITU.

During this celebration, V. Timofeev, Director of Radiocommunication Bureau; S. Osipov, Head of the Moscow Department of Science and Industrial Policy; Y. Guliaev, Director of RAS Institute of Radio Engineering and Electronics; A. Krupnov, President of Infocommunication Union; A. Ositis, President of International Telecommunication Academy; V. Shakhgildian, President of MTUCI; N. Vilkova, Director General of MNITI and President of Association of Broadcasting Designers and Manufacturers, and many other distinguished guests have congratulated FSUE NIIR.

At the meeting, V. Butenko, L. Kantor, and V. Minkin were decorated with silver medals by V. Timofeev in the name of International Telecommunication Union. Other NIIR associates were awarded in the name of Moscow Government and Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
