Collaboration between FSUE NIIR and “Tetrasvyaz” Company Group
An Agreement for Cooperation has been signed between FSUE NIIR and “Tetrasvyaz” Company Group (which is the member of the Russian Consortium ATGroup). Within this Partnership, FSUE NIIR will develop devices to operate in trunking networks with implementation of GLONASS modules. The main task is a development of russian-made TETRA user terminals, employing GLONASS navigation system, to form complex of monitoring and management systems for special purpose forces. As Andrei Sechkin, NIIR Information Technologies Research and Technology Centre associate, said, under this Partnership “Tetrasvyaz” was to perform market research for NIIR to further design new full-scale TETRA equipment. “We have already developed “pilot” devices having implemented dispatcher system”, he says. “They transmit location coordinates to the dispatcher desk through GLONASS/GPS system. Hence, we have done technical portion of work, and need only to assess a production volume”. Andrei noted that FSUE NIIR is ready to launch the contractual production of new device in case of any demand.
