NIIR FSUE at the “Sviaz-Expocomm-2009” exhibition

On May 12 - 15, 2009 NIIR FSUE took part in the 21st international exhibition “Sviaz-Expocomm-2009” of telecommunications equipment, management systems, as well as information technologies and communications services.

The main subject-matter of the exhibition stand was the demonstration of ways for the development of digital TV in the Russian Federation and NIIR FSUE latest developments in the field of promising radio technologies. The stand was divided into three main sections: satellite communications, digital TV, and technological foundation of the infrastructure for providing mass-scale info-communications services. At the exhibition NIIR FSUE showed the following developments: the multimedia subscriber color TV set-top-box “NIIR-CTV” with an expanded range of provided services; the high-speed digital satellite demodulator “SD-DVB” ensuring the reception of DVB-S2 signals; “Rakurs” software set for managing the radio frequency spectrum of terrestrial TV and radio broadcasting; “Marchroute” software set (for measuring distances on the basis of satellite navigation); “Roscrypt-M” conventional access system; “Allocator” soft-infoware for analyzing tables of frequency band allocations of radio services of the ITU, CEPT, RF and bordering countries; the system of computer-aided control and replacement of commercials on radio and TV broadcasting channels (SAK-R); the system of computer-aided monitoring of TV programs (CAM-TV); devices of satellite repeaters. It was also for the first time that a standardized software and technological set TETRA-GLONASS was presented to the general public.

On May 12 the Russian Federation President D. Medvedev visited NIIR FSUE stand, where he familiarized himself with the institute’s achievements, which were reported on by Mr. V.V. Butenko, NIIR FSUE Director General. The stand was also visited by Minister I.O. Schegolev, RF Ministry of Telecommunications and Mass Communications (Mincomsvyazi); Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government-Chief of the RF Government Staff – Mr. S.S. Sobyanin; Deputy Ministers A.A. Soldatov, D.S. Severov, and A.A. Zharov; the administration of Rossvyaz (V.N. Bugayenko, S.A. Malyanov); RF Ministry of Defense senior executives (RF Armed Forces Communications Chief/Deputy Chief of Defense Mr. E.R. Meychik); President of the National Association of TV and Radio Broadcasters Mr. A.M. Sagalayev; President of the Info-Communications Union Mr. A.E. Krupnov and many others.

In the framework of the “Sviaz-Expocomm-2009” exhibition there took place press conferences and briefings. Mr. Yu.M. Bolovintsev, NIIR FSUE Chief of TV Broadcasting Department, made a report at one of these events on “The system of conventional access “Roscrypt-M” for use in DVB-C and DVB-T commercial channels”.

NIIR FSUE’s exhibit was very popular among the exhibition visitors, mass media representatives and experts in communications and TV and radio broadcasting.
