The creation of a major Science and Research Center of the RF Ministry of Telecommunications and Mass Communications (Mincomsvyazi)
On 29 April 2009 the President of the Russian Federation Mr. D. Medvedev signed a decree on the restructuring of NIIR FSUE by way of adjoining to it the “Leningrad Industrial Science and Research Radio Institute” FSUE and “Samara Industrial Science and Research Radio Institute” FSUE. This merging is aimed at maintaining and developing the science and research capabilities and developments in the field of creating and enhancing satellite and terrestrial communications networks, TV and radio broadcasting and information systems, implementing fundamental and applied research studies.
